VETERAN BJP leader Sushma Swaraj (a Brahmin from Haryana) could possibly sense the sinister design of Amit Shah that she will not be allotted a ticket for the general elections. She smartly pre-empted the move by announcing that she will not contest the next Lok Sabha election as advised by the doctors. The medical advice followed her stressful schedule at Indore during the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The timing of the announcement was perfect as she killed two birds with one stone, which dented the chances of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. It’s not that party patriarch Lal Krishan Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar, Bhuvan Chand Khanduri and Kalraj Mishra were not aware about the denial of ticket but they could not muster the courage to challenge the Modi-Shah team. The issue is not only about veteran Brahmin leaders but approximately 10 top known faces have been denied tickets. Satish Dubey, a five-time MP from Balmiki Nagar, Bihar, was denied ticket as the seat was shared by the JD(U) this time. The same happened in Jharkhand where the BJP sacrificed their Giridih seat for the All India Jharkhand Students Union and five-term MP Ravinder Pandey’s ticket was cut.
Leaders within the BJP are not able to understand Modi’s election winning tactics or his aloofness towards Brahmins. The top leadership of RSS is already learnt to be worried about the Modi-Shah team leaning towards OBC in their all-out effort to win the election. What RSS will do is not known but the Brahmins of UP and Bihar have taken note of the apathy toward Brahmins by the Modi-Shah duo.
Get ready for the mind games.
