Rift within?

THE RSS is worried. After spreading their cadre of swayamsewaks in the field to make sure Narendra Modi wins the election with thumping majority, RSS has turned to top ranking astrologers. While there are very few astrologers who are ready to assure a majority for Modi, this is not the news. The news, according to the grapevine, is that relations between Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat have soured. Sources disclosed that Modi and Bhagwat have not met each other in a very long time. They inform that Bhagwat is upset with many policies of the Central government, especially the economic and Kashmir ones. The BJP has been a party of the business class and the latter in turn have been the main supporters of the party. These days they are reaching out to Bhagwat with a new complaint against the government every other day. There was a time when Krishna Gopal worked as a moderator between Bhagwat and Modi. He was also counted amongst the supporters of Smriti Irani. But Modi has stopped paying any heed to him.

Dattatreya Hosabale is probably the sole RSS leader who is on good terms with Modi and Shah. And these days Bhagwat has turned a deaf ear to him. One wonders what will happen post elections!
