Who says that Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav does not take care of Brahmin officers in Uttar Pradesh? In Akhilesh Yadav’s government, from the top to district level, Brahmins are ruling everywhere. Retired Brahmins have also been roped in to run the government smoothly. Navin Chandra Bajpai, Chief Secretary in the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, is now the Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission. Anand Mishra, who created obstacles in Akhilesh’s government, has been appointed Commissioner (Agriculture). Debashish Panda is posted as Principal Secretary (Home), Parthsarthi Sen Sharma, who is Akhilesh’s right-hand man, is working as Secretary to the Chief Minister. Renuka Mishra, who is Principal Secretary (Women’s Welfare), has also been assigned other departments. She is known to be the choice of Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh’s wife. Sadakant Shukla is the Principal Secretary (Housing), Chanchal Tiwari is Principal Secretary (Panchayati Raj) and Kalpana Awasthi is Principal Secretary (Higher Education).
From Allahabad to Ghaziabad, Brahmins are ruling everywhere. Kaushal Raj Sharma has been accommodated as DM, Allahabad while Vimal Sharma is DM, Ghaziabad. The brother-in-law of BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra is posted as DM in Muzaffarnagar. Yogeshwar Ram Mishra, DM Barabanki, is surprisingly posted in the area of the Thakur leader, Arvind Singh Gope. Not only this, Raja Bhaiya, the notorious politician, has had to reconcile with Amrit Tripathi, who is DM of Pratapgarh. In Gonda, where all MLAs and MPs are Thakurs, Ajay Upadhyay is posted as DM. Anuj Kumar Jha is posted as collector in Dimple Yadav’s Kannauj constituency. In the area of Azam Khan, reportedly an acolyte of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chandra Prakash Tripathi is posted as DM in Rampur. In Sonia Gandhi’s constituency, Rae Bareli, Prem Narayan Dwivedi is DM. Rahul Gandhi’s constituency, Amethi, has also got a Brahmin DM, Jagat Raj Tripathi. In Samajwadi leader Naresh Agrawal’s home town, Hardoi, Ramesh Mishra is posted as DM. Lal Bihari Pandey is DM of Sitapur, Sandhya Tiwari is DM of Hamirpur, Bhanu Goswamy is DM of Jaunpur and Narendra Shanker Pandy is DM of Bhadoi. The Commissioner of Moradabad is Bipin Dwivedi and Commissioner of Gorakhpur is Rakesh Ojha. In Chitrakut, which is a very important political belt, the Commissioner is Murlidhar Dube.
The IPS lobby is not lagging behind either. Jawahar Lal Tripathi is ADG of UP’s most important intelligence department. Though Surya Kumar Shukla could not become DGP, he has served as ADG (Budget) for two years and is now serving as a DG (Wireless). This department has a budget of approximately `1,000 crore and the police department purchases sensitive equipment through it exclusively. UP has eight IG Zones and Brahmins are posted in four. Braj Bhushan Sharma is IG in Allahabad, Ashutosh Pandey in Kanpur, DC Mishra in Agra and Alok Sharma in Meerut. The most sensitive Meerut Zone has surprisingly got Brahmin officers as IG, DIG and SSP-Alok Sharma, Ramit Sharma and DC Dubey, respectively. In Gonda, not only the DM but the SP, Rajesh Pandey is also Brahmin. Gyaneshwar Tiwari is DIG, Gonda and Ajay Mohan Sharma is DIG, Jhansi (Bundelkhand), SSP Bulandshahr is Anant Deb Tiwari, SSP Saharanpur is Nitin Tiwari, Hapur SP is Gajendra Prasad Pandey, Rampur SP is Sadhna Goswami, Kaushambi SP is Ratan Kant Pandey, Oraiya SP is Manoj Tiwari, Mirzapur SP is Dinesh Chandra Shukla and Balrampur SP is BD Shukla-all are Brahmins. It is interesting to note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency, Varanasi, has also got a Brahmin DIG, SK Bhagat, and even in Lucknow, which is the pivot of the state government, a Brahmin RK Chaurvedi is posted as DIG. The paradox is that middle-ranking implementing officers are mostly Yadavs. The Dalits are missing from the list and they are not seen anywhere in the ruling clique. Is Mayawati listening?
