Udhayanidhi: The Successor
Why Stalin chose his son Udhayanidhi to run the DMK empire ignoring his reportedly and allegedly money changer, money collector, money launderer, son in law Sabareesan, husband to his daughter Durga. He cut to size his ambitious bro MK Alagiri, recovering from the shock of his son lying comatose in a hospital in Madurai after a ghastly car accident following allegedly drunk driving plus drugs. The Maran brothers, neither here nor there, were isolated. rumours Stalin is very seriously unwell, and sources informed that he won’t be able to sail DMK through in 2025.

MK Stalin : The Strategist
Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mu Ka Stalin, who turned in a sterling performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections winning all the 42 seats in the Lok Sabha, a feather in the cap for the INDIA alliance, has nominated his son Udhaya Stalin as the 2nd in command by appointing him as the Deputy Chief Minister. he has thus sealed the speculation over the succession race in the family eliminating Kannimozhi, brother MK Alagiri and the Maran Brothers from the field.

Udhayanidhi Stalin took the oath along with other new ministers in the presence of his father CM MK Stalin and which included the return of the prodigal son Senthil Balaji back into the fold aftrr 400 days long incarceration by the Enforcement Directorate without any concrete evidence, soures say.

After the appointment of Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, as the deputy Chief minister, four other Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) legislators were sworn in as cabinet ministers by Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi in Chennai.
DMK leader V Senthil Balaji, who was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case, was among those who took the oath. The other three legislators sworn in were R Rajendran (Salem-North), Govi Chezhian (Thiruvidaimarudur), and S M Nasar (Avadi). He has spent 400 days in jail.
The ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan in the presence of chief minister MK Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi, who had already been named the deputy chief minister. Udhayanidhi Stalin is the rising star of DMK politics and leadership as he represents the aspirations of the youth in the state in terms of employment opportunities and skill development. He is the gen Next leader.

Political spculation was rife that lthe CM Stalin wanted to send a clear message to his son in law Sabareesan who handles all party funds and activities was trying to up the ante against Udhayaidhi by playing up his ministers against him. Sabareesan is the husband of MK Stalins daugher Senthamarai. Stalin is married to Durga who was not allowed to use the goddess name as long as father in law Mu KA Karunidhi was alive – he was an atheists. Also MK Stalin’s brother MK Alagiri, very much subdued after his son’s ghastly accident in Madurai and lying in a comatose state in a hospital, and step sister Kanimozhi had thrown their hats in the ring to succeed MK Stalin based on apocryphal stories that he was very sick – that he was suffering from Parkinson disease or that he was suffering from an auto immune disease that required blood transfusion every three months, which political observers claimed, explained his leading delegations to overseas seeking investment opportunities for the statethe single most powerful distributor of films, ahead of SUN Pictures owned the Maran brothers – Dayanidhi and Kalanidhi.
The DMK patriarch is said to have lent enormous amounts of money to his nephew Murasoli Maran, a union minister, some three to four decades ago, to launch SUN TV, which is the biggest TV network in the country in fourteen languages broadcast with a market capitalisation of over Rs 20,000 crore
End of an era: M Karunanidhi passes away at 94; here’s a journey into ...
Film circles say that no independent producers can release his movie without the permission of either RED Giant or the SUN TV. Both the networks buy up all the movies even from big time producers and do a primer on their TV networks (RED GIANT does not have a TV network of its own), organise events to popularise the music in the film through audio launches and trail blazing of the movie through programmes before the release of the film to create audience awareness and interest.
SUN TV is also watched for its popular TV serials such as Iniya, Sundari, Tamil dubbed version of Ramayan, Mr Manivi, Malar and a host of others. SUN TV’s mobile application NXT gives the serial on the mobile soon after its telecast , a novel feature. And the cost is as little as Rs 100 per month with facility for automatic deduction from your bank account, saving you the hassles of renewal of subscriptions.
Transmission is of high quality in HD 1080. Even the SD transmission has been upgraded.
Udyaya Stalin was a popular actor in Tamil Films in his own home productions playing the boyish charm in love with his peer group of attractive women, courting them through comic interludes. He has acted with top heroines of the day such as he multilingual star Nayantara, the heart throb of millions in TN, Hansika Motwani, a Sindhi origin actress, Regina, and several others of his age group. All his films have done reasonably well at the box office, not just recovering cost of production but ending the day with profits.
After a movie is released, SUN TV network even does an on-the-spot review of the film from cine goers exiting the theatres, very much like an exit poll after elections. And this helps the films run in the first and 2nd weeks.
The DMK family is a powerful entity in the state with a cadre of over 100,000 dedicated workers, runs two established newspapers Murasoli, in which the DMK patriarch used to write editorials with such clarity and sting that it had a great following not just among the cadre of DMK workers but widely read by all political parties and common people. Dinakaran, owned by the SUN TV group, is their daily newspapers reflecting the views of the party, coverage of party events and of the DMK leaders.
The DMK family is also said to be having control over the real estate industry, computer peripheral industry, a stake in the automobile industry in Sriperumbudur (not officially known yet), and total control over film making, distribution and exhibition.
The DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi had three wives. The son through the first wife Mu Ka Muthu tried to copy the MGR model to success in films but flopped miserably. From the 2nd wife the patriarch spawned Mu Ka Stalin and M K Alagiri, the latter is said to be a strong man in Madurai, but his influence has now been considerably eroded by the family, sources say.
DMK MP Ms Kanimozhi is the daughter through the 3rd wife of Mr Karunanidhi and has been tasked with looking after affairs in Delhi — Liaoning with the government at the centre for the states demands, playing an active role in parliament helping the INDIA alliance in the debates on crucial topics, the DMK has a veritable strength of 42 MPs , one of the biggest for a regional party in the Lok Sabha, and facilitating meetings for the DMK leaders with central leaders.
You name it. Every sphere of the state’s economy is controlled by the DMK family from films to computer industry, to real estate, nothing moves without their knowledge. Even an ant can’t breathe without their knowing its heartbeat.
